Bringing Fandoms to Life at San Diego Comic-Con

San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2026 proved to be another monumental moment for AMC Global Media. From immersive, on-the-ground experiences to exclusive screenings, we had the pleasure of honoring and interacting with many of our most passionate fans at the ultimate celebration for pop culture fandoms.

Much like our army of Walkers lurching across the concrete jungle earlier this month during our Manhattanhenge takeover, The Walking Dead: Dead City’s star-studded panel was jam-packed with The Walking Dead Universe enthusiasts. With special appearances by Dead City stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan, fans’ eagerness for season three was nothing short of magnetic. While frenemies Maggie and Negan share a complicated relationship on the show, Morgan and Cohan’s formidable friendship off camera at SDCC was undeniable, further cementing fans’ passion for such an iconic franchise. That excitement was amplified by the announcement that Emily Kinney, who portrayed Beth Greene on the original Walking Dead series, is set to make a special cameo appearance in Dead City’s new season.

This ever-evolving fandom remains a testament to the power of exceptional storytelling. Fans stay engaged on screen, through our social channels, and during interactive fan experiences. Brands, too, can play a critical role in the action. From RON Media across digital inventory to custom social campaigns – the latter in collaboration with AMC Global Media’s Content Room – brands can integrate themselves into this franchise in ways that remain equally enriching for advertisers and fans.

The Walking Dead Universe wasn’t the only avid fandom at SDCC. Last month, we entered the next chapter of Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe franchise with The Vampire Lestat, the third installment of our highly acclaimed Interview with the Vampire series. And fans can’t get enough. Much like Dead City, Lestat’s cast panel – featuring Eric Bogosian, Jacob Anderson, and Assad Zaman (with Sheila Atim making a surprise appearance!) – was loaded with quite the lively (or unlively) crowd.

Fans were eager to sink their teeth into a sneak peek of Queen of the Damned: the next edition in AMC Global Media’s vampiric narrative, based on Anne Rice’s novel of the same name. Fans were also granted early access to The Vampire Lestat: One Night Only Live, covering the recent Beacon Theatre performance where Sam Reid (Lestat himself) electrified the audience with his rock-charged ballads. It’s a spectacle that fans are still raving over! “This is a fandom that, after two seasons, has put its trust in a cast and crew that has gone to exceedingly strange and over-the-top places,” Rebecca Alter writes in her Vulture recap of Lestat’s Beacon showcase, “Interview With the Vampire, and now The Vampire Lestat, require a suspension of disbelief and willingness to go beyond the normal mores of TV to enjoy its twists and pleasures to the fullest extent, and the crowd inside the theater was all too willing to go along with the kayfabe.”

But Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe isn’t our only gateway into distinguished tales of the supernatural. SDCC attendees were treated to an exclusive first look at our new supernatural drama, Yaga, with series cast members Noah Reid and Clark Backo. After a young heir to a powerful fishery disappears, private investigator Rapp finds himself at odds with the bizarre personas conducting enigmatic lives in a small coastal town shrouded in magic ambiguity. Starring Heated Rivalry’s Hudson Williams, this surreal, reimagining of the Slavic Baba Yaga folklore hits AMC+ this October. Courtney Thomasma, EVP of linear and streaming products for AMC Global Media, has said of the series: “Yaga is the kind of bold, genre-bending storytelling that we look for on AMC+ to complement our core franchises and super-serve our passionate and discerning fanbases.”

SDCC will be back again next year. And with that, so too will AMC Global Media, celebrating the dedicated fandoms that fuel our captivating storytelling ecosystem.
